WHAT is an independent broker? The word "broker" and "brokerage" are actually interchanged throughout the site to mean the same thing. Independent brokers are simply real estate brokers that have chosen not to join a national franchise. Many independent brokers object to paying the fees that franchises charge but all of us agree that our main reason is running our companies as we choose, independent of the rules and policies of the big franchises while offering on a more personal scale the service and professionalism that each of us provide.

Many of our member brokers have no other agents in their office and others may have 10 agents, but we all adhere strictly to a National Code of Ethics and all of us agree that helping others fulfill the American Dream of homeownership is what we are all about!

It is quite surprising but a majority of the buyers are represented by independent broker firms and not by franchise agents.
