Our January 2008 meeting started off great - Steve Sullivan of MIBOR brought us up to date on the success of the BLC and gave us lots of data about 2007.  Thanks Steve!

January 28, 2007 - 3 of our Broker Members and One Affiliate Recognized at MIBOR Ball!  Janet Jernigan, Nancy Patterson and Dee Young, all broker members, were each nominated by different organizations to be selected as Realtor of the Year at MIBOR.  Way to go members!  Lona Neal was nominated by IREIBA and mentioned at the Ball for affiliate of the year.

January 16, 2007 -Largest attendance record for IREIBA!  Steve Sullivan from MIBOR was our guest speaker and he spoke about the future of the MLS, and what role the independent broker plays in sales in our area.  We had 6 new members from this meeting and we are well underway to a great year at IREIBA!

Dec. 2006 - Holiday get-together at The Ratskeller, downtown.

November 2006 - Clark Giles gave a presentation on blogging and how we can use blogs in our business.  And, our President brought lots of information and hand-outs from her trip to the National Association of Realtors Conference in New Orleans earlier this month.

October 2006 - Our annual "old timers" meeting.  Mari Jo Pennington, Pooch Hunter, Milton Booth and were great - giving us insight to the past and how their experiences through the years have landed them where they are today.  This October meeting is always a favorite for our members and our panel never disappoints us with their positive attitudes about our industry.

April 18, 2006 - We'll open the meeting around 11:45 with a brief business meeting and at Noon Jay Rose will speak to us on "Civil Rights in Real Estate from an Attorneys' Prospective".  This should be a different twist on how we typically are versed on civil rights.  We may also have an affiliate member take a minute to introduce themselves and of course, lots of networking among our membership.  We have some exciting upcoming events to discuss and changes to the website and what our EC has been thinking about to enhance our membership benefits.  Announcement of special dates and events too!!!

March 21, 2006 - Jodi Tuttle from the IAR Legal Department was our speaker and updated us on the latest changes made by NAR and on the latest legislation signed by Gov. Daniels regarding minimum fee for service.  Members in attendance were privy to the very latest changes and suggestions by IAR's legal counsel and Jodi plans to update the Indiana REALTOR website by April 1, 2006 and put in to some pretty plain English more about the NAR changes and the minimum fee for service legislation.  Our IREIBA watch-dogs will keep an eye for the changes and make sure that our members are aware of the updates.  We celebrated our 5th Anniversary with some delicious ice cream cake and even though we didn't have our usual attendance due to the weather still had a great turnout!

February 21, 2006 - "Forms"  We had a great meeting!  35 in attendance!  Brokers brought some of their favorite forms and sharing information was at its best.   We are sure that everyone benefited from something that was passed around.  Also Lona Neal at Chicago Title told us how she can help with flyers and marketing and gave away two copies of Agent Office software as doorprizes.  Tim Back at Tim Back Erie Insurance spoke on several different insurance programs he has and the versitility of his office.  He explained some differences to us on hazard policies and more helpful hints.  We had 7 new members sign up at the meeting and a few more interested parties will be sending their checks.  That brings us to 59 members!

October 18, 2005 - "Survivors of the Biz!"  IREIBA membership will enjoy what we think will be an exciting meeting.  We are having a discussion panel of agents who have gone thru many of the ups and downs of our industry.  Join us when Pooch Hunter, Barb Heck and Priscilla Russell (and another surprise guest) sit on a panel and discuss how they have each remained in the business through all of the changes.  Feel free to submit questions for the panel to Delores Kennedy ahead of time!  ALSO, we will have a photographer at this meeting to take professional photographs of our members who wish to have a new picture for our website and for their own purposes.  Cost will be extremely reasonable.  Watch for emails!

September 20, 2005 - Continuing Education with Mildred Wilkins. 2 CE credits for a two hour session on how to get to the closing table.  Cost is $10 for non-members and members are free.  Just be there at 11:30 prompt!

August 16, 2005 - Scottish Rite Cathedral registering at 11:30 a.m. and meeting startly promptly at 11:45.  Our guest speakers will be talking about E&O Coverage and several of our new Affiliate Members will introduce themselves and bring information on their services.  E&O is very important to all of us so don't miss this very informative meeting.  As always, a guest that attends our meeting for the first time is free and our fees are pro-rated so joining for the rest of 2005 is a super-bargain!  See you there.

July 19, 2005 - As always at the Scottish Rite Cathedral starting at 11:30 a.m.  Speakers will be Carla James from the IDA (Individual Development Accounts) - Matching Funds for Down Payment Assistance and Shirley Grigsby or Kate VanWinkle from ACORN (Association of Community Organization for Reform Now) regarding home ownership training.   We'll also have website updates, membership updates, upcoming program updates and one of our Sponsors, Mildred Wilkins, from Homeownership Matters will give us a brief update how our memberships can utilize her website service for themselves and their clients.

June 21 2005 - Joyce Able from the Small Business Administration (SBA) educated us on several different programs of the SBA that can help small business owners like us!  There will be an SBA EXPRESS COMMUNITY WORKSHOP on July 21 from 11:30 - 1:30 at Citizens Gas at 2020 N. Meridian Street.  You may attend free but reservations are required and you may sign up by calling 317. 226-7272.  Anyone can apply for a "small" business loan without so much as a business plan in hand in amounts of $5,000-$15,000.  We are forwarding a complete guide to this workshop via email to our members but if you did not receive this email please contact info@ireiba.com and we will send it to you.

May 17, 2005 - Kurt Flock from Flock Realty spoke to our brokers about the exploding downtown real estate market.  We appreciated his up-to-date information about upcoming projects in the downtown area and his outlook for the future growth of downtown Indianapolis.  Way to go Kurt!  Did you know the average square footage price of the condos being built in the downtown area exceeds $200 a square foot?

April 18, 2005 was very informative when we had two speakers from the INHP (Indiana Neighborhood Housing Partnership) and who the INHP helps first time homeowners in purchasing the American Dream - with the help of course - of real estate agents!

March 15, 2005 - Jodi Tuttle from the Indiana Association of Realtors was our Speaker and brought us up to date on some important legal issues.  Agents should check the national no-call list (www.fcc.com) every 30 days and not quarterly.  We had a great turnout for the meeting and 4 new members!

At our Feb. 15, 2005, meeting a representative from Centry Title and KeyBank spoke and information was presented about the Home Fair at Glendale in March. Broker-Members may sign-up to participate in the Home Fair by calling Delores Kennedy. Broker-Members can now add their own listings on this website too--contact Janet Giles for your password by emailing info@ireiba.com.

At our January 18 meeting, Mike Gerding, one of the owners of Showing Solutions, gave us a great presentation on how his company serves Realtors and allows Brokers to do what they do best! List and sell real estate! Showing Solutions currently services over 30 offices in the Indianapolis area, sets all showings appointments for your agents, has a great website notification program and feedback abilities. Prices are extremely reasonable and you can select from several different pricing structures. Showing Solutions can be contacted through their website at www.showingsolutions.com or by phone at 1-888-569-2080. THEN, Arnie from eGix gave us an update on his voice communications systems. Did you know that every Realtor in South Bend is on the eGix system? Arnie talked about their newest capability: "voice over the Internet" which eliminates the need for an extra phone line, gives you unlimited long distance and actually allows you to "take your home phone with you wherever there is Broadband". Wow...the technology is awesome and IREIBA wants to bring you more speakers in 2005 to help us keep a step ahead and understand how to save money and use state-of-the-art technology. Check out eGix at www.eGix.com or call the local rep Stephen Howard at 317.216.5970!
